A series on the winners and losers of global transformation

Global transformation has its winners and losers. Deutsche Welle’s internet series Secrets of Transformation shows how people in developing and emerging countries are experiencing transformation in their daily lives. Why is the fight against corruption more successful in Liberia than in Ukraine? Is there a strategy behind economic growth in Bolivia? How come that Pakistan’s economy has ground to a halt? Why is the separation of powers model of governance crumbling in Hungary when it tends to consolidation in Indonesia?

For its Secrets of Transformation series Deutsche Welle was given exclusive access to the data of the latest Bertelsmann Transformation Index (BTI). A new installment appears every two weeks. Future Challenges is participating in Secrets of Transformation with blogposts from our international network of bloggers. They reflect and enrich the facts of the Bertelsmann Transformation Index on a personal and emotional level.
