TTIP NEGOTIATIONS: A SUMMARY OF ROUND 1

Round 1 of Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations set the stage for what negotiators on both sides of the Atlantic envision as a “comprehensive” and “high-standard” agreement. Negotiators were able to complete the round even amidst negativity surrounding allegations of US surveillance of European Union offices.

Announcements on US-EU cooperation tangential to the round and the weeks following have preserved momentum, despite many potential sticking points.
