An Afghan girl in New Delhi, India, waits for her turn to perform.

An Afghan girl, living in Indian capital Delhi, waits for her traditional dance performance in commemoration of the World Refugee Day in 2011. Every year, June 20 is celebrated as the World Refugee Day by the UN to spotlight world attention on the plight of refugees across the world. The slogan for the 2011 campaign was ‘1 is too many’.

This photograph is to celebrate the International Women’s Day (8th March) and highlight the challenges that women face across countries, cultures and the world. More pictures related to the IWD at  http://futurechallenges.org/local/personal-grief-or-collective-pain-women-at-forefront-of-struggles/
