I have worked for both online and print publications, and also dabbled in writing for television in 2010 for an election special. But I really want to be a quintessential journalist, not boxed by the medium which I write for. I do not want to be limited by the medium, I want to use it as a tool to revolutionize my own reporting, and hence reach more people. I have written reports on climate change and the judiciary for Newsbreak, a news organization specializing on investigative journalism. I also contributed articles on climate change to AlertNet Reuters and Asia Views, a regional magazine. In 2008, I was chosen as a fellow for a media training on climate change reporting for Southeast Asian journalists. The following year, I was selected by the German-based International Institute for Journalism as a participant for the ASEAN regional training held in Jakarta, Indonesia. A book I researched on about the judiciary was published in March 2010. I was also a co-author on a book about corruption under the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. I worked for Jakarta Globe, an English daily in Indonesia for six months in 2010 and decided to return to reporting this year. While in Jakarta, I wrote stories on the stigma against the transgender community and the diverse views of Islam about them for Panos London.
